My Favorite Drugstore Makeup

I am addicted to makeup. When I talk about makeup, I don’t mention drugstore items often enough. With combo skin I must try out a lot of products to find makeup that works well on dry and oily skin.

Drugstore makeup has stepped up their game big time. Some drugstore makeup is better than the high end. So here are my favorite drugstore cosmetics right now.

Finding a good primer from Sephora and the drugstore can be hard. I like the e. l. f. Primers because they’re six dollars and they sell a primer for almost every skin type. L’Oreal Paris Magic Perfecting Base reminds me a lot of the Bobbi Brown Vitamin Enriched Face Base. I get some pilling with this product. Milani Prime Light Strobing & Pore Minimizing Face Primer is a dupe for MAC Strobe Cream.

Milani eyeshadow primer is my go to eye primer. The Milani primer is a dupe for Too Faced Shadow Insurance. I prefer the Miliani over Shadow Insurance. The price is also better.

Mascara is tough I am very picky and if my mascara transfers to my under eye area, I will not re-purchase that mascara. I recommend the L’Oreal voluminous lash primer which is a dupe for Subversion primer. Lash Paradise is better than Better Than Sex Mascara. Maybelline Volume Express Mega Plush is rather good. I have liked most of the Maybelline mascaras at the drugstore. Full and Soft is another good Maybelline Mascara. I have one gripe with Maybelline mascara and that is the formula is too wet.

Some people will open Maybelline Mascara five or six days before they even plan on using the mascara to let the mascara dry out a little. Maybelline has a wet mascara formula and takes too long to dry. If you do not let Maybelline Mascara air out it makes a mess.

The only drugstore brow pencil I use right now is the Maybelline Studio Brow pencil. I am always looking for a good drugstore brow product. I am hoping to find a dupe for Brow Whiz.

For concealer I’m a fan the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind. Maybelline Instant Age Rewind is great for highlighting under eye area. Instant Age Rewind also helps conceal dark eye circles. There is minimal creasing with this formula. That is why I always recommend Age Rewind. I am not a fan of the applicator and sometimes it wastes product.

Drugstore foundations are good. I love L’Oreal Infallible Pro-Glow foundation. I dislike glow. Yet, Pro-Glow is one of the few foundations that doesn't make my skin seem dry. Since my skin type is combination skin, I must worry about my oily zones. Pro-Glow does not make my skin appear oily.  Most foundations that work well on dry skin are terrible on oily skin.

I also am fond of Cover Girl Vitalist Healthy Elixir. This is not full coverage like the packaging says but, Vitalist Healthy Exlir looks natural and is comfortable. Vitalist Healthy Exlir is a tinted moisturizer. The formula is perfect for a sunny day because the formula contains sunscreen and I use this during the summer a lot. My only complaint is without setting spray it can break down after 5-6 hours.

I have been using Maybelline Superstay full coverage foundation a lot. This has quickly become my go to foundation. The coverage is amazing and so is the price.

I buy most of my lip products from the drugstore. I love the Maybelline Color Sensational Vivid Liquids. The dry down for this lipstick takes forever. Because the formula is comfortable, that does not bother me. L’Oreal Infallible Lip Paint the metallics are spectacular. I love them so much. NYX butter gloss is great too not too sticky. Wet 'N Wild Liquid Catsuit is another excellent liquid lipstick. Their two dollar lipsticks are comfortable and long lasting. Maybelline has the better lip formulas. I would buy all the Maybelline lipsticks if I could.

A great drugstore eyeliner is hard for me to find. L’Oreal is awesome anything from the Infallible line is good. The Infallible liquid eyeliner it is my favorite. Some shades are harder to find. I took awhile to find the eyeliner in gray.

Maybelline Fit Me powder is what I like to use to set my makeup. I use a large fluffy brush to apply the powder. I have yet to find a loose powder at the drugstore that wows me. I heard the Cody Air Spun is incredible though.

Blush is hard for me because I am addicted to my Benefit box blushes but the Milani Rose Blushes or Baked Blushes are great. The pigmentation is insane use a light hand.

NYX Professional Makeup Matte Bronzer was my favorite bronzer from the drugstore. The pan is huge, and it lasts forever. Physicians Formula Butter bronzer became my favorite recently. It can be expensive considering its supposed to be drug store. However, it smells amazing and is one of the best bronzers out there.

Wet 'N Wild has the better drugstore highlighters. The Color Icon line is excellent. Color Icon Bronzer, Reserve Your Cabana is a cult favorite highlight. Despite being a bronzer a lot of women use Reserve Your Cabana as a highlighter. Overall the shade is very subtle, and the pan is huge.

I like the Wet 'WIld Photo Focus setting spray. My makeup has lasted through light workouts with this setting spray.
