For most people who wear makeup mascara is the one makeup item they could not live without. Mascara looks good on everyone and makes your eyes pop. Mascara is tricky to work with. Have you ever sneezed right after applying mascara? If the formula is problematic mascara can ruin your makeup. When you buy makeup sometimes, you’re stuck with it. Mascara is one thing hard to return.
When mascara smudges or runs that is the worst. Nyx Proof It Waterproof Mascara Top Coat makes any mascara waterproof. So if your mascara is running or smudging, you can try that. A lot of women love how their mascara looks, but it runs or smudges.
I hear about clumps often. The secret is to use a clean piece of paper to wipe off the excess product before application. Wipe off clumps right away. Another easy fix for any mascara is to use a metal eyelash comb to get the clumps out. A plastic eyelash comb is bulky and can make it worse. While the mascara is still wet, comb the clumps out. You can comb when the mascara dries but the mascara may flake and end up in your eye.
If your mascara is dry or flaky, add one or two drops of sterile eye drops or saline solution for contact lenses. Since mascara is good for up to six months, you can revive drying out mascara this way.
Another issue is mascara can give you raccoon eyes. When this happens, use a separate mascara for your bottom lashes. Many people use the Cover Girl Clump Crusher. That didn’t work for me, but I use Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara.
Primer makes it easier to apply mascara. Most primers are white and cling to the lighter parts of your lashes. Thus making them visible so you can apply mascara to them. Primer lengthens and conditions your lashes. Mascara primer can help protect lashes from waterproof mascara which is drying. Waterproof mascara is also hard to remove. You could pull out or break lashes while removing waterproof mascara. Loreal Voluminous is a dupe for Urban Decay Subversion Primer. Voluminous Base is my favorite and affordable. You can find it at any drugstore, Wal-mart, or Target. If you do not use a primer, I recommend you try it.
Curl your lashes, but do so before applying mascara or primers. Curling after mascara is bad for your lashes and can cause spider lashes. Worst of all, your lashes may stick to the curler and rip out. Curling your eyelashes not only helps them seem fuller but makes your eyes bigger. You need to apply the eyelash curler to the base, the middle, and at the tips. Make sure you wait three to five seconds before moving on to the next section.
I hope this helps you. If you apply mascara with care, many typical mascara issues never arise.
