CHUDA Sheer Hydrating Lotion and Primer Review

This post was powered by BrandBacker. Since this is perfect for summer I am reviewing CHUDA sheer hydrating lotion with SPF 30. Chuda Sheer Hydrating lotion is for all skin types and says it helps dry, damaged skin. The literature on the box also describes this as a primer.

My initial thoughts when I used this for the first time without it had a distinct sunscreen scent to it. One or two pumps is enough as a little goes a long way. It absorbs within 5 to 10 minutes.

I used this product twice now. The first time I used it I was having a normal skin day. I wasn’t having any flareups with acne or oil, or any dry patches. I have combination skin so I am prone to dry patches.

I noticed the first time I used this that when I blotted with papers, a few hours after application there was a lot of oil. This is unusual for me. There was a lot of oil in areas where I’m not prone to oil.

I chalked it up to it being this primer. The sheer hydrating lotion was the only thing I had done in my skin care routine and apply for the day. That day I was using Maybelline Superstay Foundation which can be drying. I found that using this product underneath it help prevent my skin from getting dried out by the product.

The second time I used this I was experiencing dry patches and texture issues and this was a helpful primer. It helped with the dry skin and texture issues. I noticed oil when I blotted but not as bad as the last time because at this point my skin was parched.

If you have oily skin, this is a primer you want to use a good mattifying powder or setting spray with. If you have dry or combination skin, this primer will help protect your skin from a matte foundation. Even though I have dry patches, I prefer matte foundations which can be drying.

The active sunscreen ingredients are Homosalate, Octinoxate, Octisalate, and Avobenzone. All the ingredients are listed here. Dimethicone is another ingredient and is in many pore filling primers.

I like that this lotion offers sunscreen as many foundations do not offer SPF. I will continue to use this under my Maybelline Superstay foundation as it worked well together. Or when I go barefaced. Sunscreen is crucial to to preventing skin cancer and aging. I liked CHUDA sheer hydrating lotion and will continue using it. If you have dry skin, I cannot recommend this enough.
