Raise your hand if you love Wondery podcasts? I love listening to podcasts. Personally, I listen to a few every week rather than watch television. This way I learn something new and engaging rather than sitting in from the TV.

With a winter break around the corner, my daughter is going to have a lot of free time on her hands and I encourage her to listen to podcasts rather than rely on screen time for entertainment.

Wondery has a new podcast called Melons House Party, and it’s what my daughter plans on listening to during Christmas break this year.

New episodes come out every week. Melon’s House Party is a delightful musical podcast about Melon. Did you know that the objects in our homes sing and speak all day long? But only dogs can hear them.

Melon is an 8 pound dog who lives in a world where she is never alone. Her friends are a singing record player, a computer, and her bookshelf is a therapist. But Melon’s best friend in the entire world is her couch, and every week you join Melon on a new musical adventure.

What I like most about Melon’s House Party is that it teaches kids about the world around them and how important friends and family truly are.

What I love is this is appropriate for kids ages 5 to 12. It’s an alternative to screen time. It gives them something to do and encourages them to listen, learn and use their imagination to visualize the story.

Each episode is around half an hour and has original music. You can put it on while you’re driving the kids around, and you’d love it as well. It’s a great way to keep the kids busy while you cook dinner or do chores.

Melon’s House Party it’s just the most perfect family friendly podcast, especially if your kids love music.

What I love is that I can download the podcast and put it on an iPad on my iPhone and let my daughter listen to it and it keeps her busy and I don’t have to worry that she’s watching or listening to anything that I don’t approve of.

Sometimes as parents need a little help to get things done and Melon’s House Party is the one thing I can feel good about using to distract my daughter so I can cook, clean or just have five minutes to myself.

Melon’s House Party is available on Wondery, Amazon Music, Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or wherever you listen to podcasts. So no matter what operating system your phone or tablet uses, there’s an easy way to listen. Which it makes it easier for other family members or babysitters to play the podcast for them when they’re watching them. New Episodes are available on Wednesdays.

So tell me, did you know about Melon’s House Party? And do your kids love music and listening to podcasts as much as mine do?
