Splurge Worthy Beauty Products
When it comes to taking care of ourselves, it’s hard sometimes to spend money especially if we just don’t have very much of it. It can be tough to justify a purchase if it is expensive. It's one thing to buy a five dollar lipstick at the drugstore but to spend $18 on a tube of lipstick may be stretching it for some.
For most of when we are shopping for new items, we have no idea how good the product is because we have never used it. That is why I love reading product reviews.
I also love recommendations from other bloggers and YouTube. I have specific people I prefer to watch or read and trust their opinion. They usually have a somewhat similar skin type to me. I find that reviews on websites are helpful, but blogs and Youtube videos are longer and more detailed.
I have combination skin. I'm prone to dryness, but I have oily skin in my t-zone. I can get oily very quickly in the t-zone if I use the wrong products. My dry areas can get patchy fast. My skin is also very sensitive. What I use can be used on almost any skin type because of this.
So I keep trying beauty products because I am always looking for something that will help my troubled skin and I have tested a lot of products.
These are my splurge-worthy beauty products. Because I am on a budget myself and I know that if you're going to spend money on an expensive item, it better work good I am recommending my holy grail worthy favorites.
The first splurge item is a luxury item is by SOL de Janeiro. The product is the beloved by many women Brazilian bum bum cream. It smells so good and makes my skin soft and smooth. It is my favorite beauty product right now. I swear it has helped reduce my stretch marks too.
As a general recommendation because we all have our different taste in eyeshadows. I highly recommend any Lorac eyeshadow palette. I have 3. The Mega Pro matte which is mini. It has perfect, crease, base, and transitions shades and the best white for the browbone highlight. I have the first professional one as well. Its stellar and I have mega pro 3. The quality is phenomenal. Because matte shades are more pigmented, there will be the kickback. I am posting a Wayne Goss video because he can explain it better than I can. Lorac shadows do have kickback, but that is not bad it just means the pigment is on point. These shadows apply effortlessly blend like a dream, and stay on all day. What's not to love.
Stila Stay All Day waterproof liquid eyeliner this stuff is fantastic. I swatched it, and it dried so quickly. I rubbed it, and it would not come off. I put more pressure on it with two fingers, and it would not come off. I tried removing it with a baby wipe it came right off. I’ve worn it all day, and I’ve come home it was just as good as when I put on in the morning. It comes off with makeup remover you don’t have to tug on your eyelids.
I love this product, but at $93 it’s not in my budget. I love Fresh. Fresh makes some of the best skin care products, and their instant perfecting black tea mask is one of the best face masks I have ever used. I have the rosacea, blackheads, and skin texture issues when I pair this with a mask like Origins rose clay retexturizing mask my skin looks so much better. The black tea instant perfecting mask is a standalone mask as well you don’t need to pair it with anything it just does help me have a better overall complexion and moisturizes my skin.
Tarte Tape Shape concealer or Make Up Forever full cover creme de camouflage extreme. I can’t pick between the two. They are equally some of the best full coverage concealers out there. Tape Shape does crease. It's just a thing that happens. It's not uncommon we all have lines under our eyes. I find mixing in a little primer helps. The Make Up Forever, in my opinion, has a bit more coverage and blends out a little better. I also think Tape Shape dries quickly, and that is not always a good thing, hence why its harder to blend.
Laneige Water Bank Essence Ex was raved about in a few magazines, and I had to try it. Sephora did not have the Ex version. I found it on Amazon, and it was under $30. If you have skin texture issues like me or dry skin this one is for you. I have noticed that some of my skin texture issues which are more apparent when I’m trying to put on makeup because you can just tell I have skin texture issues because the foundation or concealer emphasize them and lately my makeup is looking much better. Drunk Elephant makes a skin cream that supposed to be phenomenal for skin texture issues but it’s 90 dollars, and this was under 30. So I am glad this works. I had tried other products that did not work.
Cinema Secrets instant makeup brush cleaner is expensive; I just love this. I wish I had more I’ve been using it for about two years now you dip, or you spray your brush and then wipe it with a clean, dry towel. The makeup is gone, and it dries quickly so if you need to clean your brush and then use it again that’s not an issue. You could just dip the brush in micellar water as well and wipe it with a clean towel it just won’t dry instantly.
Peter Thomas Roth Pumpkin Enzyme peel this is amazing. The peel is an alpha hydroxy acid exfoliation treatment. The Enzymes are suitable for any skin type it essentially treats congested complexions so if you have Pore issues or texture issues it’s going to help a lot. The peel is also anti-aging.
Mark Jacobs Velvet Noir mascara honestly I love O!Mega Lash a little bit more and if you want to splurge on a full-size mascara than go for but. To my knowledge is not sold as trial size at Sephora as they do with the Velvet Noir which means you’re going to pay more. Mascara is good for up to six months after you open it if you’re like me and you use different types mascaras, and you don’t wear every day the little one will last you. Velvet Noir is a great mascara I feel like it’s much better than Better than Sex this doesn’t flake doesn’t smear it holds a curl it last all day it’s just incredible mascara.
Verb is a brand of hair care products. Right now I am finishing off my hydrating shampoo and conditioner, and I love how gentle it is on my colored hair. I have already reordered more Verb shampoo and conditioner. This time I am trying the Ghost line which is a very hyped product.
Finally, the Sephora Collection Avocado Eye mask at $5 it seems like a good deal, but that is for one treatment. It is so nourishing the lines under my eyes plump out for days. It is worth every penny in my opinion.
